Lincoln firefighters found flames coming from the 2nd floor of an apartment building near 21st and A Street when they arrived around 8:30 Tuesday night.  LFR Captain Nancy Crist says crews were able to quickly put out the fire and made sure all of the residents were out of the burning building.

One person who escaped the fire was injured and taken to a hospital.  The extent of injuries is not known.  Investigators say a resident left food cooking on the stove, which sparked the fire.  Damage is estimated at $300,000.

Residents in all for units were displaced and will have to find another place to stay.
