By Kaleb Henry Dec 1, 2022 | 8:56 PM

The road to Omaha began with a sweep in Lincoln.

Nebraska volleyball (25-5, 16-4 Big Ten) swept Delaware State 25-15, 9, 10 Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskers started slow, but once the size advantage became evident, it was all NU. No Hornets eclipse 6’1″, while every front row player for the Huskers is at least 6’2″.

Delaware State had a -0.108 hitting percentage on the night, due in part to the 56 digs and 15 blocks by Nebraska. The Huskers hit a blistering .341 in the win.

Lindsay Krause led all attackers with 10 kills on .500 hitting. Kaitlyn Hord notched nine blocks.

Playing with Nicklin Hames, Kennedi Orr and Anni Evans each dished out 10 assists.

Nebraska takes on Kansas in the second round Friday. The Jayhawks upset region No. 7 Miami in straight sets.
