The Lincoln Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit joined in a nationwide ‘Click it or Ticket’ enforcement effort  November 23-27. Special attention by law enforcement officers was directed to those motorists who failed to buckle up themselves, their passengers, and children.

There were a total of 162 traffic citations/arrests.  Officers issued 42 speeding citations and 17 for seatbelt violations.  50 drivers were cited for no valid registration and 17 for no insurance.  There were 20 citations issued for other traffic violations.  8 drivers were cited for driving under suspension and one driver was cited for DUI-Drugs.

There were also four people arrested on warrants.
