The Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) has released the latest unemployment numbers for Nebraska. For the month of October, the state’s unemployment rate is 2.4 percent, seasonally adjusted. That’s up 0.2 percentage points from September and is the same as the October 2021 rate.

The month’s nonfarm employment is up 8,448 over the month and up 28,106 over the year.  Private industries with the highest month-to-month growth include trade, transportation, and utilities, which are up 3,121.

Education and health services are up 1,862, and mining and construction are up 1,385.  Private industries with the highest year-to-year growth were trade, transportation, and utilities increased by 6,020, leisure and hospitality 5,490, and education and health services are up 4,657.
