The YMCA of Lincoln is bringing back its annual Turkey Trot for its 14th edition this Thanksgiving Day. Families in the area have the chance to get the holiday started with either a roughly three-mile race (five kilometers) or a one-mile Fun Run or Walk. There are in-person and virtual ways to take part.
On Thanksgiving morning, participants will gather at Lincoln Memorial Park at 6800 S 14th Street. Those interested in taking part can register early at the YMCA website through Nov. 20. On-site registration on the day of the event is possible, too, but registering before Nov. 20 will get you a 2022 YMCA Turkey Trot t-shirt.
The registration fee for this year’s Turkey Trot is $17 per person for the Fun Run/Walk, $32 per person for the race, or $70 for a family of up to five members taking part in the Fun Run/Walk. Prices apply whether you’re taking part in person or virtually.
