Lincoln Police arrested a 17 year old following a rear-end crash at 70th and O Street around 2:15 Saturday morning that critically injured the other driver.
Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the teen was driving a Ford Escape eastbound on O Street when he slammed into the back of a Chevy Malibu that had been stopped at a red light. The 27 year old driver of the Malibu had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to a Lincoln hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Vollmer says the 17 year old was taken to a Lincoln hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police say the teen was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis at the time of the crash. He was taken to the Youth Assessment Center where he was booked for DUI resulting in serious bodily injury.
