For the second time this year Republican Mike Flood defeated Democrat Patty Pansing Brooks in a race for Nebraska’s First District Congressional District.
Flood also defeated Pansing Brooks in June’s Special Election to fill the remainder of Jeff Fortenberry’s unexpired term. Tuesday’s election win means Flood will serve a full two year term.
Flood had praised Pansing Brooks for running a strong campaign. “I have great respect for anyone who puts themselves out there and runs for an office,” Flood says, “Because it does take courage and it does take sacrifice to be in this arena. And while we may disagree on the issues, we do share love for each of our own families and a passion for what we believe. And at the end of the day, Senator Patty Pansing Brooks and I, we’re both, we’re all Nebraskans and we’re Americans. So, I tip my hat to her and to her family tonight.”
Flood said he’ll focus on fighting inflation, securing the border and fighting a rise in crime.
