Fugitive Arrested Following Two-Hour Standoff

Fugitive Tre’Vaughn Brown, 29, was arrested a little after 11 AM on Monday, Nov. 7 following a two-hour standoff between him and the Metro Fugitive Task Force. Brown, wanted for a parole violation stemming from a 2011 assault conviction, was found to be in an apartment at 4301 N 24th St. As recently has two months ago, Brown was known to have been in possession of a weapon.

Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner told KLIN News, “Our Task Force members attempted to have Brown open the door and come out for two hours. Because of his violent criminal past and the possibility he might be armed, our Tactical Response Unit was activated.”

The Nebraska State Patrol’s drone unit was called to the scene, along with LSO’s new Bearcat armored vehicle. Once all the pieces were put in place, it came to an end at 11:09 AM.

“Brown came out of the apartment and was arrested without incident,” said Sheriff Wagner.

Campbell Elementary School and a local childcare facility near the site of the standoff were notified of ongoing events put in lockdown. They resumed as normal once the apartment was cleared.
