Early voting for the Nov. 8 midterms is underway, and Lancaster County has already received back a large number of ballots. Election Commissioner Dave Shively tells KLIN News that of the almost-49,000 ballots sent out, about 66 percent (over 32,000) have been returned.

This is an impressive number eight days away from the election. In 2018, the last midterm election, Lancaster County received about 36,000 requests for early ballots, 34,000 of which were returned before Election Day.

While it is too late for the Lancaster County Election Commissioner’s Office to send voters a ballot, voters may still go to the office in person at 601 N 46th Street to vote. Those who still wish to vote early must send their ballot in so that the office receives it by the time polls close on Election Day (8 PM).

The Lancaster County Election Commissioner’s Office is operating extended hours from Nov. 1 through Nov. 7 for matters related to voting.
