The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office stopped an eastbound vehicle on I-80 west of the Highway 77 exit around 11:00 Friday morning. Sheriff Terry Wagner says deputies smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a search.
Deputies found 6.75 pounds of marijuana, an AR-15 short rifle, a 9 mm handgun and 516 rounds of ammunition in the vehicle. Wagner says the handgun was in a shoulder holster.
“That gets to be a little concerning and a dangerous for officers when they make those stops,” Wagner says. Deputies also found $3,000 in cash in the vehicle. Wagner says 23 year old Grant Bawden of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was arrested for possession with intent to deliver and carrying a concealed weapon.
