The city of Lincoln is looking for up to 50 seasonal employees to operate the capital’s brand new super combo trucks to plow snow and ice from streets this winter. Liz Elliot, Director of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities, shared details for the plan to hire the new “snow fighters.”
“To support this hiring effort, LTU will be hosting a snow fighter’s hiring event on Wednesday, November 9th from 5 to 8 PM right here at the Municipal Services Center at 949 West Bond Street. Interested drivers will learn about street snow plowing, complete an application, and interview all here at the same time,” said Elliot.
The new trucks replace 12 of the city’s oldest in the fleet and double Lincoln’s ability to clear arterial streets of snow.
