The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports that 26 year-old Philip Garcia died October 29th at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.
Garcia was serving a 26- to 46-year sentence for theft by unlawful taking, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and assault on a peace officer. Garcia’s sentence began February 27, 2018 and all charges originated out of Scotts Bluff County.
The cause of death has not been determined. A Grand Jury will conduct an investigation.
