Nebraska women’s basketball left absolutely no doubt in their exhibition win Sunday afternoon.

The No. 22 Huskers dominated Division II Washburn 70-27 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Ichabods only scored double digits in a single quarter, getting 10 points in the third.

NU raced out to an 11-0 lead to begin the game and never looked back. The Huskers shot 42 percent form the floor, making eight three-pointers. Washburn shot made just 18 percent of their shots and turned the ball over 21 times.

Alexis Markowski led Nebraska with a double-double, scoring 18 points and adding 10 rebounds. Issie Bourne was close to her own double-double, with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Nine of the 10 Huskers to see the floor scored in the game.

Perhaps the best news of the day came off the court. It was announced that Sam Haiby’s injury was not as bad as originally believed. Haiby had surgery Thursday and could return later this season, though there’s no timetable for her potential return.

The regular-season begins Nov. 7 when Nebraska hosts Omaha for a noon contest.
