UPDATE: Evacuations Ordered in SW Lincoln and Lancaster County Due to Vegetation Fire

Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency: -EMERGENCY MESSAGE If you are between 54th and 38th Firth to Olive Creek, please Evacuate now to the north and east.

Nebraska State Patrol:  Troopers are assisting emergency management with evacuations of some areas in southern Lancaster County and northern Gage County due to a large fire.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s office has issued mandatory evacuation orders for the area near SW 12th and West Saltillo due to a grass fire.

Lancaster County officials are advising no one to travel south of Saltillo road from SW 140th to S 190th. They are currently battling two wildfires that are making conditions extremely dangerous.

Lincoln-Lancaster County Emergency Management also asked farmers if conditions are safe to turn on  pivots or water sources from SW 72nd to SW 100th from Princeton to Apple. An evacuation center has been set up at Lincoln Southwest Highschool. The American Red Cross and Salvation Army are present.

Lincoln Lancaster Emergency Management announced that the current location of the fire is Southwest 100th to Southwest 86th, Gage Rd to Panama Rd. They also announced that at this time the city of Lincoln is not in danger at this time
