Lincoln Salvation Army Looking For Paid, Volunteer Bell Ringers

By Tom Stanton Oct 17, 2022 | 1:03 PM

It won’t be long before the Salvation Army red kettles begin appearing across Lincoln.  Major Mark Anderson tells KLIN News they currently hiring paid bell ringers. “In some cases it helps them through the holiday season and it’s also a way for us to get all those kettle locations covered.”

Anderson says the pay is $11 an hour with the potential for bonuses.  Four to eight hour shifts are available. If you’re interested, stop by their office at 27th and Holdrege to fill out an application.  There will be an orientation prior to the bell ringing season, which runs from November 9 through December 24.

Volunteer bell ringers are also needed.  Anderson says they are looking for individuals or groups to work some shifts.  You can sign up by clicking here.

Anderson says they have had to scale back the number of red kettle locations across Lincoln because they couldn’t get them all covered.  Instead of 46 locations, Anderson says they will have about 30 this season.   The money raised during the campaign helps the Salvation Army provide for families in need during the holiday season and throughout the year.
