Food Bank of Lincoln Seeking Volunteers

By Michael Wheeler Oct 14, 2022 | 4:09 PM

The Food Bank of Lincoln is seeking volunteers as the winter and holidays approach. Volunteers will pack food bags, sort food, and help get items out to people in need.

John Mabry, Vice President of Fundraising and Engagement for the food bank, says this is a particularly good opportunity for students.

“It’s a great opportunity for students who might need some community service hours for school or their organization – maybe their church – and we can definitely use the help right now.”

Mabry told KLIN News that the Food Bank of Lincoln can find work for individuals and groups of four or five. Anyone over 12 can volunteer, but those under 16 will need to be accompanied by someone at least 16 years old.

Volunteering opportunities can be found at the Food Bank of Lincoln’s website.
