At 11:47 Thursday morning, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Wayne Park in Waverly on the report of a stabbing. Deputies assessed that a 14-year-old boy stabbed a 15-year-old boy multiple times.
The 15-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where he is being treated for potentially life-threatening injuries. The Nebraska State Patrol took the 14-year-old into custody without incident. The crime scene is still being processed, and Wayne Park will be closed until the investigation’s completion.
“We don’t know what precipitated the stabbing, and we’ll work to find out those details,” Lancaster Sheriff Terry Wagner told KLIN News.
Waverly schools are not in session because of the fall break, so it is unclear if the boys are Waverly students.
