Randy Gordon has been named as the new Executive Director of the Lincoln Parks Foundation. A Lincoln native, he has spent his life getting to know the capital’s parks and trails.
Gordon brings with him almost two decades of experience in public education, independent training, and consulting. Additionally, he spent five years at the Arbor Day Foundation. While there, Gordon grew the network of partnering organizations as manager of the Tree City USA and Tree Line USA recognition programs and the Partners in Community Forestry National Conference.
Gordon spoke to KLIN News, saying, “My goal is to make sure that we continue to inspire people to really recognize that it’s a growing community, and we’ve got the opportunity to do some great things.”
The new Executive Director shared his affinity for Woods Park, but also told KLIN about what makes the city’s parks so appealing to residents.
“There’s something for everybody,” said Gordon. “Our city is still growing rapidly, and we’ve got a lot of work to do to keep up.”
Gordon will officially begin his duties on Monday, Oct. 17.
