Saturday, Oct. 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, and Lincoln’s No Footprint Too Small is offering a memorial service for bereaved families. But Lincoln’s weekend’s event is only a small part of a global occurrence. Alex Reznicek, a board member of the group, spoke with KLIN News.

No Footprint Too Small’s event, named “Wave of Light,” encourages people around the world to light a candle at 7 PM sharp.

“This event is an opportunity for bereaved parents, family members, and their friends from around the world to memorialize all babies who have died too soon,” said Reznicek. “At 7 PM, in every time zone, candles are lit for the babies, and they’re lit for one hour to kind of create this wave of light around the world.”

No Footprint Too Small is a Lincoln-based, non-profit organization that offers perinatal support to families who experience pregnancy or infant loss. Saturday’s event will take place at Antelope Park’s Auld Pavilion from 6 to 8 PM and will feature food, community, a band, and the lighting of candles.
