The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will be helping ensure Halloween is a safe night for all kids this year. Sheriff Terry Wagner says they will be handing out reflective trick or treat bags to all K-6 students this month.
Wagner says each bag has safety tips on the front. “Don’t go out alone, stay in well lit areas, watch for cars and have your parents check your candy.” He says inside each bag will be a glow stick that kids can put on their wrist to make them more visible.
“Halloween is a huge night for children-pedestrian car crashes,” Wagner says. The bags will also be given out at the Trunk or Treat event at Lancaster County Events Center on October 18.
