Lincoln’s StarTran bus system is seeking 17 new drivers. Liz Elliott, Director of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities, announced a one-day, one-stop hiring event where applicants have the chance to get hired in just a couple of hours.
“Interested applicants will be able to connect with bus operators, tour a bus, fill out a simple application, interview, and potentially get hired all in an hour or two,” said Elliott.
Applicants do not need a commercial driver’s license to apply, as StarTran will provide paid training to receive it. StarTran will also cover costs for taking the driving test.
The event will happen on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 3 to 7 PM on the first floor of the County-City Building at 555 South 10th St.
