As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies will be wearing pink patches on the shoulder of their uniforms.  “We all know friends or family members who have suffered from breast cancer,” says Sheriff Terry Wagner.  “So it’s a really good effort and we adopted this for October and November.”

This is the first time the sheriff’s department has participated in the Pink Patch Program, which started in California in 2013.  “We’ve done ‘No Shave November’ in the past to raise funds for various things, but this is the first time for the Pink Patch Program,” Wagner says.

The shoulder patches will be worn by many of the deputies until December 1.
