Update on LES’s Florida Operations

By Michael Wheeler Oct 3, 2022 | 10:24 AM

Lincoln Electric System sent 20 personnel to help restore power to hurricane-stricken Florida. The team is working with six members from Grand Island in New Smyrna Beach, on Florida’s eastern shore.

LES members are largely working in blind alley areas, which are narrow lanes and areas around buildings that are inaccessible to any vehicles. Jim Fisher, manager of T&D Construction at Lincoln Electric System, told KLIN News the workers are safe.

“They got there around midday Friday,” Fisher said. “And right now they’re not sure how long they’re going to be there. It looks like they’ve got plenty of work for now. But New Smyrna hasn’t indicated when they might be done with them.”
