Man Arrested After Trying To Steal Two Motorcycles From Lincoln Business

A 36 year old Lincoln man was arrested after police say he tried to steal two motorcycles from Frontier Harley-Davidson at 205 NW 40th around 8:30 Friday morning.

“Store employees called after discovering a south side window shattered and merchandise missing from the store,” says Sergeant Chris Vollmer.  He says among the missing items were a 2022 FLHXS bike valued at $21,000 and a 2022 RH975 valued at $13,500.

“The RH975 was located in a trailer on the property among other stolen items,” Vollmer says.  “The FLHXS was found on its side near the trailer.

36 year old Wellington Carngbe was identified through security video and was still at the business when an employee arrived. Wellington was found  later in the day during an unrelated call for service near 13th and H Street.  He was booked in  jail for burglary.

The total value of stolen items is  $42,300 and the estimated damage to the building, security camera and
motorcycles is $4,700.
