Lincoln Police are investigating a one vehicle crash that killed a passenger Monday afternoon. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says it happened around 4:30 at Cotner & Holdrege.
“The vehicle was northbound on Cotner and lost control as it attempted to turn eastbound on Holdrege,” Vollmer says. “The vehicle slid from the roadway and collided with a traffic control box, light pole and tree.”
Vollmer says a 25 year old man who was a rear seat passenger died at a Lincoln hospital. Three other passengers were also hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The driver did not require hospitalization.
The intersection was shut down for several hours for repair work to be completed. The investigation is continuing.
