Four people from Los Angeles were arrested during a traffic stop I-80 near NW 48th Street in Lincoln around 1:15 Thursday afternoon. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says they were wanted by Grand Island Police for the theft of a credit card that was used to make purchases at a Best Buy in Grand Island.

He says they used the fraudulent credit card to purchase eight MacBook Pro’s worth $19,000 and several high end purses, watches, wallets and jewelry worth $10,000.

Deputies also recovered $10,000 cash.  The were all booked into the Lancaster County Jail for possession of stolen property over $5,000.   Houchin says the investigation is ongoing with the Grand Island Police Department.

“It was a very good catch.  I know Grand Island’s very happy because it would have been very difficult it we hadn’t got them at that time for them to identify everybody and figure out who it was.”
