Some frightening moments for residents in a Lincoln neighborhood Tuesday night. Police were called around 10:30 on a report of gunshots in the 1500 block of Knox.
Officers found numerous 9 mm shell casings near the intersection of Knox and Portia. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says two nearby apartments were damaged by the gunfire.
“The damage was observed on the front door and several windows of one apartment and a front window of another,” says Sergeant Chris Vollmer.
No one was inside the apartment receiving the most damage. There was a resident sleeping in the second apartment. The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
