More information has been released regarding Friday’s garage fire at 1100 SW 24th Street.
Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from an attached garage. All of the residents had made it out of the house. During a search, a dog was found. Despite efforts by firefighters, the dog died.
The cause of the fire was an improperly disposed of cigarette. The combined loss to the building and contents is estimated at $200,000.
