Lincoln Police were called to JC Penney at the Gateway Mall at 6100 O Street just before 10 a.m. on Monday, August 1st to investigate a vandalism.
An employee reported that an incident took place the night before between 5 and 8 p.m. An unknown person discharged the contents of a fire extinguisher throughout a clothing section on the 2nd floor. The fire extinguisher was left on the floor and those responsible left the area.
The contents of the fire extinguisher is considered a skin irritant so all the clothing it came into contact with will be destroyed. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
