Four people were injured in a two vehicle crash around 8:30 Monday night at Highway 77 and West O street in Lincoln.  Just before 8:00 pm a Seward County Sheriff’s deputy observed a speeding vehicle westbound on Interstate 80 near Goehner.  The deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but it took off at a high rate of speed and exited the Interstate at exit 373.

The sheriff’s department says the vehicle continued to flee on county roads until the deputy was unable to see it.  At that point the pursuit was terminated.  A short time later, another Seward County deputy observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 6 near Rokeby Rd and a second pursuit began.

The chase entered Lancaster County, at which time the second pursuit was discontinued. The Nebraska State Patrol had previously been advised that the vehicle was headed towards Lincoln. A Nebraska State Trooper observed the suspect vehicle collide with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 77 and West ‘O’ Street.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 27 year old Marcus Vogt of Fremont.  Investigators say the vehicle was stolen from Fremont and the license plates on the vehicle were switched from another vehicle that were also stolen.

Vogt and two passengers, along with the the driver of the second vehicle, were transported to Bryan-West where they were all treated and released. Vogt was arrested for theft-receive stolen property, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, speeding and violating a stop sign.

Vogt was booked at the Seward County Detention Center.
