United Airlines is adding 120 flights nationwide this fall to accommodate football fans.
Rachel Barth with the Lincoln Airport says they are excited that three of those fights will land or take off from the Capitol City.
Barth says, “One of the exciting flights they will be adding is a direct flight for Oklahoma fans to come to Nebraska. That will be a big deal welcoming them to Lincoln. The other two games they are adding extra flights or potentially bigger aircrafts will be Michigan and Iowa. Those are some opportunities our fans can take advantage of.”
This will be saving local fans some headaches in getting to those games. Barth says, “United has been a long time partner of ours. When they started doing those flights last year, we were excited. Those flights did really well. We are the best fans in college football and we travel well. This just gives people the additional opportunity to fly out of their local airport.”
Barth says convenience is key and you can park, in and out of security quickly and don’t have to stand in long TSA lines. You are home within 10 to 15 minutes of arrival, those are perks of flying in and out of Lincoln.
Nebraska takes on Oklahoma on September 17th. The match-up with Michigan State is November 12th and Iowa on November 25th.
