On Thursday, July 21st, LPD officers were sent to the Tanglewood Apartment Complex near 44th and O Street at 7:20 a.m. to investigate vandalism’s to vehicles.
The initial report involved two vehicles with shattered windows. Police soon earned there were 12 vehicles that had been damaged.
It appears that all the vehicles had windows shattered and had been rummaged through. Fireworks were had been left in several of the vehicles.
As officers were searching for additional damaged vehicles, they located a stolen 2017 Jeep Cherokee near 50th and N Street. It had been reported stolen on July 19th from the 6700 block of Bermuda Drive.
Inside the Jeep, an electric scooter was found. The scooter had initially been reported missing from one of the damaged vehicles at Tanglewood. Police say the only other missing item reported taken from one of the vehicles was $20.
