The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will be taking part in the ‘Speeding Prevention’ enforcement campaign. The national mobilization is
sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
The goal is reducing speed related traffic fatalities. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the selective enforcement activity by increasing the number of deputies patrolling Lancaster County roads in marked cruisers.
The deputies will be working in marked cruisers on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights from July 22 through August 08. The additional deputies will focus their efforts on speed related and all other traffic violations.
Overtime for the additional deputies working during the mobilization will be paid through a mini-grant funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
