Nebraska GOP Introduce New Party Chair Eric Underwood

By Karla James Jul 14, 2022 | 1:39 PM

Nebraskans today were formally introduced to new state GOP Chairman Eric Underwood at a news conference at their Lincoln headquarters Thursday.

Underwood replaces former chairman Dan Welch, who was voted out of the seat last Saturday at the party convention Saturday in Kearney.

Underwood today stated the conversation today was about moving the party forward. He started, “My leadership style is simple. I believe in people. I believed in people all my life. The idea is to put them into a position that they can thrive. We as a party have the opportunity and a platform to get the resources to them across the state where it can help them in local races all the way to the governor’s race. That is our goal. We will find this foundation in what we call values.”

Underwood stated their number one goal is to get Republicans elected and focusing on the November election.

Others attending Underwood’s introduction today included Lieutenant Governor Mike Foley and former Nebraska U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry.
