Lincoln Police got a call around 8:15 Wednesday morning from a man who reported that his 83 year old wife was missing from their home in the 500 block of Pioneers Blvd.
LPD says her husband said his wife was last seen around 2:00 a.m. LPD Sergeant Jason Wesch says the man checked around their property and called police when he couldn’t find her.
The Nebraska State Patrol sent up their helicopter to aid in the search. Wesch says the search ended around 10:00 a.m. “We thoroughly searched the area and we found the woman deceased near a creek bed in a wooded area close to the house where they lived.”
The creek is in the Beal Slough area near Wilderness Park. The woman’s husband told police she suffered from memory issues. LFR crews used a rope system and a metal basket to bring the woman’s body up the steep embankment.
