LPD Officers were called to the 1000 block of Garber Avenue around 7:05 p.m. Sunday, July 3rd to investigate a disturbance between neighbors at an apartment building.
Officers determined there was probable cause to take 27 year old Payne Ackerman into custody for disturbing the peace. Ackerman then produced a screwdriver and threatened other tenants of the building and officers.
Police used a taser and OC spray to take Ackerman into custody.
After being checked out at a hospital, Ackerman was booked for attempted 1st degree assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and resisting arrest – 2nd offense.
