A 56 year old man living at an apartment in the 1800 block of Knox Street called Lincoln Police around 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 30th to report that a neighbor had kicked in his door and threatened him with a 6 inch Bowie knife. The victim told police the neighbor, 50 year old John Golden, had made a statement about “something hidden in the apartment”.
Golden was located outside by Lincoln Police and was still holding the knife. After spotting the officers, Golden dropped the knife and ran inside his unit.
LPD spoke with Golden through the police cruiser PA system. Golden eventually came out of the building and surrendered without incident.
Golden was booked for making terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony and burglary.
