LPD and LFR were called to a home at 4039 N 12th Street due to a report of a fire in an attic. The call came in just after 5 p.m. on Monday, June 27th. LFR’s Nancy Crist says they received word that there was a resident still inside and couldn’t get out.

Crews saw smoke coming from the attic area of the one-story home. One person was found in the bathroom and taken out through a window by LFR crews. That person was taken to a hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

The fire was located and contained in the living room area and the cause is still under investigation. There is an estimated $50,000 damage to the home and $25,000 in content  loss.
