The immediate future of Project Future Daycare at 4720 W. Huntington Avenue is unknown. It is closed today. It may be closed for the next several days. The building was hit by lightning during Thursday evening’s storms.
Daycare owner Heidy Castillo tells KLIN News the owner of the building notified her around around 3 a.m. that lightning hit the roof.
Castillo says, “The damage isn’t too bad actually. It was in the middle of the building so we did get some water damage on one of our shelves. It was in our craft area so a little bit of that got water. Besides that, no one was there and the building is fine besides that hole.”
Castillo says the building is being inspected and they are waiting for repairs. When they will reopen isn’t yet known.
