A longtime Lincoln favorite, the Parthenon Greek Grill and Taverna at 5500 S 56th Street will close for good on June 19th.
The good news is the Parthenon will transition to catering in a new location and on their Kouzina Food Truck.
The owners, George and Mike stated on Facebook: We are welcoming our friends from The Mettle Grill in Hickman with open arms into our current location. The Mettle Grill’s owner, Susantha Weerasinghe, stated, “I respect and admire everything George and Mike have done to make the Parthenon a fixture in the Lincoln community. We have big shoes to fill and we will work hard for the opportunity to earn the business of this community. I see this as a passing of the torch and not as a restaurant trying to replace the Parthenon.”
The Parthenon had been in operation for 20 years. They say the Kouzina Food Truck will be popping up in your neighborhood, all around town at special events, and even in surrounding communities. This food truck will have a constant menu of Greek favorites, along with a periodically-changing feature menu, consisting of exciting, new meals to try. And you’ll still be able to find us at the Farmer’s Markets on the weekends!
The owners say those with gift cards that didn’t get a chance to use them can mail it back for a full refund.
