There’s a cave beneath Lincoln, Nebraska?! Yes! For years, access has been denied to the infamous and notorious Robber’s Cave, but it is no longer shrouded in mystery. Whether you visited Robber’s Cave legally or illegally, are learning about it for the first time, or are one of the thousands who have returned to the sandstone tunnels for a trip down memory lane, you will enjoy discovering all aspects of the cave’s fascinating past on a cave tour!
Robber’s Cave Tours, located just South of Van Dorn Park, offers cave tours 7 days a week / year round. Due to popularity, tours must be booked in advance. The 5,600 square foot cave is 52 degrees year-round and is a 2022 Nebraska Passport stop. The sandstone cave is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been featured in Midwest Living and Atlas Obscura, which catalogues the most unusual travel destinations in the world.
Come find out why there’s been an award-winning book written about the cave, as well as an upcoming film! All tours are conducted by Joel Green, whose book Robber’s Cave: Truths, Legends, Recollections won a Nebraska Book Award in 2019. Green is the cave’s foremost ambassador and was named Front-Line Employee of the Year by the Nebraska Tourism Commission.
To book a tour simply call, text, or email Joel to check availability. More information, including contact info, can be found at www.robberscavetours.com or @robberscavetours on social media.
