Lincoln Police were conducting a follow-up investigation at the Super 8 Motel near 26th and West O Street Monday afternoon regarding catalytic converter thefts.
“Parked in the lot was a Jeep Cherokee suspected to be involved in a recent theft attempt at a separate location,” says Sergeant Chris Vollmer. He says officers contacted 29 year old Samantha Fischer and 40 year old Craig Haynes, both of Blue Springs, Missouri as they approached the Jeep.
“Haynes was found to have $1,203 on his person and Fischer 4.5g of suspected Methamphetamine in her bag. Further inquiry into the Jeep found it had been reported stolen out of Lee Summit, Missouri,” Vollmer says.
Officers continued to the room rented by Haynes and Fischer and found 44 year old Rachel Lawler and 46 year old Gene Madden, both of Kansas City, Missouri inside.
Officers found 31.3 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, $4,351 currency and a .25 caliber handgun inside the room. All four are facing a variety of charges including drug possession.
