Jim Pillen won the Republican nomination for governor Tuesday night and will face Democrat Carol Blood in the November General Election.
Pillen beat eight challengers, including Brett Lindstrom and Charles W. Herbster who was backed by former President Donald Trump. Herbster was was accused of groping several women during his campaign. Pillen says his values heading into November won’t change.
“It’s really important that us Christian conservatives start getting a little bit more courage and start speaking about issues that are important to us. I’m about faith, I’m about family, I’m about pro-life.”
Pillen had been endorsed by Governor Ricketts, who is term-limited.
