Thousands Attend Trump, Herbster Rally In Greenwood

By Tom Stanton May 1, 2022 | 10:15 PM

Thousands of people came to the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood on Sunday to as former President Donald Trump held a rally and endorsed Charles W. Herbster for governor.

Herbster spoke for about 25 minutes prior to President Trump taking the stage and covered a wide range of topics.  He started by saying “the establishment has taken control of the state of Nebraska and the Nebraska and Republican Party and they are trying to scare me out of this race.  It’s not going to happen,” Herbster said.

The Republican gubernatorial candidate also said “We’re going to cut taxes, we’re going to quit CRT, we’re going to take sex education out of the schools and put it back in the homes where it belongs.”  Herbster said he supports legal immigration.

He also said China is infiltrating the United States and that he will not allow China to buy one acre of land in Nebraska if he is elected governor.  Herbster did not address the sexual assault accusations by eight women. The allegations first surfaced in a story by the Nebraska Examiner and Herbster has denied all the accusations.

But the former president came to Herbster’s defense.  “It’s a shame.  That’s why I came out here. He’s a good man. He was with us from the beginning,” Trump said.  “It’s a disgrace what they’ve done and that’s why I’m with you,” Trump said.

Trump urged Nebraskans to go the polls and vote for him.  “He’s going to do a fantastic job so get out and vote for Charles W. Herbster.”
