Nebraska football’s first player taken in the 2022 NFL Draft came off the board in the second round Friday evening.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected center Cam Jurgens with the 51st overall pick. He is the highest drafted Husker since Prince Amukamara in 2011.
Jurgens, out of Beatrice, Neb., started 31 of 32 games at center for the Huskers from 2019 to 2021. In his final season, he earned third-team All-Big Ten honors and was on the Rimington Trophy Watch List.
Rounds two and three continue this evening with rounds four through seven taking place Saturday.
