Lincoln Police say a 20 year old woman responding to an ad regarding a rental property ended up becoming a scam victim. LPD Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the woman responded to the ad on apartments.com.
“The victim began receiving texts, asking for down payments and a security deposit. The victim complied, utilizing cash transfer apps. When the victim arrived to view the property, it was obvious the home is presently occupied,” Vollmer says.
The suspect has ceased communication with the victim. The total loss $1,550.
