Due to the threat of rain Saturday’s outdoor LPS Music Festival will be inside East High School. It will run from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The event will feature student performances from all six LPS high schools along with several community groups. “This is an opportunity to highlight the strong musicians we have in our community in a fun, casual and inclusive environment,” says staff sponsor and East High School assistant director of bands Nicole Shively. “This event caters toward talent show-esque musical performances rather than serious solo and ensemble performances. Students from around the school district auditioned in March and are eager to perform.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased ahead of time for $5 online, or $6 cash at the door. All proceeds will be donated back to LPS Music Department to help purchase new instruments for beginning band and string students at LPS. There will be silent auction items for people to bid on and merchandise for sale.
There will also be a food trucks at the event.
