The resident of an apartment building in the 2200 block of S Street called Lincoln Police around 2:45 Thursday morning to report noises coming from the laundry room area.
Police arrived and found 31 year old Lee Bryant inside the laundry room. They also saw that 3 washing machines were damaged and panels had been removed.
Bryant was found to have a pry bar and other hand tools inside his backpack and there was loose change in his pocket.
Bryant was booked for possession of burglary tools. He was also cited for theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief.
Damage to the washing machines is estimated at $450.
