For the past two weeks the People’s City Mission has been collecting diapers for children in war torn Ukraine. Past Tom Barber says they will fill a Convoy of Hope semi with those diapers at the end of the week.
“They have a truck that’s going to pull up this Friday at the Help Center and they’re going to pick up whatever diapers we have collected,” Barber says. “We’ve got about 65 percent of a semi full.” He’s asking Lincoln residents who can help to drop off packages of diapers to the Help Center at 68th and P before noon on Friday.
Convoy of Hope is an international relief agency that has provided the mission with items in the past couple of years that have been given to needy people in Lincoln. Barber says they want to return the favor and help families struggling in Ukraine. He says diapers are the number one needed item right now.
