By Mark Vail Apr 18, 2022 | 6:00 AM

Statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence state that on average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. This equates to nearly 1 in 4 women being victims of some sort of physical violence.

Friendship Home in Lincoln https://friendshiphome.org/ provides a wide range of services for victims of domestic violence and is asking for the public’s help to collect 600 items for care packages for women in need who might be overlooked on Mother’s Day.

Friendship Home is being supported by a national program of Two Men and a Truck  https://twomenandatruck.com/ through its national program Movers for Moms and the Lincoln operation  https://twomenandatruck.com/movers-for-moms

Nichole Palmer, community outreach coordinator at Friendship Home told KLIN News the local Two Men and a Truck operation has set up collection boxes around the community and will be transporting the donated items when the donation period ends just before Mother’s Day.

Palmer says they are especially interested in outdoor activities for kids including sprinklers, yard toys, bubbles as well as sun screen and bug spray.
